4-Lane Highway project from Tambaram to Sriperumpudhur at Rs. 95 Crores!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has allotted funds funder the Chief Ministers� Highway Development Project highways from Tambaram to Sriperumpudhur to expand into 4-Lane highways.

An official from the Department of Highways informed me that it has been ordered to complete this project within the next 18 months!

In the 1st Phase of this project, the highway section from Sriperumpudhur to Pillaipakkam at a distance of 4.5 km was expanded into 4-lane highways.

 Subsequently, it has been decided that in the 2nd Phase, the balance roads of 10 km distance are to be expanded into 4-Lane Highways,

Funds of Rs. 95 Crores have been allotted from the Chief Minister�s Highway Development Project.  An order on this allotment has been released by the Chief Secretary of the Highways Department Dheeraj Kumar.

After completion of the 2nd Phase, the sections highways Tambaram-Mudichur-Sriperumpudhur of 10 to 20 km distance (presently, 2-lane highways) will be expanded to a 4-lane highway

During the execution of this highway expansion project, the construction of 3 bridges including a large bridge is included.

For this highway expansion project, tenders have been floated by the Department of the Highways.

The firms offering the tender have been ordered to submit their offers before 29th March.

Subsequently, after awarding the project contract to the right organisation, project work is set to commence from the next month.
