Keezhadi: Archaeology: Rectangular slabs of ivory and moss found!

During the third phase of archaeological efforts made at Keezhadi, located Thirubhuvanam in Sivagangai District, 4 pieces of moss (�Paasi mani� in Tamil) and rectangular slabs made of ivory have been found.

7 stages of archaeological research have been conducted at Keezhadi, Kondhagai, Agaram, and Manalur near Thirubhuvanam. In this effort, more than 15000 different items have been found!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated the 8th Phase of the Archaeological research on 11th February.

The research has been in progress. During the digging carried out yesterday, when digging a pit at 2 feet depth at a location, 4 pieces of �Paasi mani� (moss) were found! 2 of the pieces were in green colour and the other in purple.

Further, rectangular slabs made of ivory (elephant horn) were also found.

The archaeologists shared that in this archaeological session of the 8th Phase, they hope to find a large number of archaeological items!
