Shocking!! In Kodambakkam, pedestrians have been forced to walk on the main road now!!

An important locality in Chennai is Kodambakkam and in this locality haphazard parking of vehicles and encroachments on the Station Border Road is making the lives of many pedestrians difficult now. The pedestrians are now forced to walk on the main road.
It was later brought out by a Kodambakkam resident that the pedestrians have to walk on the main road at their own risk and due to this free flow of vehicular traffic gets hindered.
The resident then spoke about how on one side of the road (traffic moves towards Arcot Road) there is no footpath and on the other side (towards Rangarajapuram Flyover) the slabs on the footpath were broken and uneven. It must be noted that footpaths (on the section of road from Zachariah Colony First Main Road to the railway terminal) have been taken up by many vendors, eateries and meat shops, pushcarts, tricycles etc. At some places, the road has been battered and this is also creating issues. The pedestrians and motorists have a risk of skidding etc.
Another resident of Kodambakkam spoke about how no action was taken to remove the encroachments despite many complaints issued to GCC. The resident then mentioned that the motorists come at high speeds and due to this small accidents have taken place.
