IT Dept. raids Lion Dates
A team from the Directorate of Income Tax (Investigations) led by Deputy Director Sundaresan raided the Chennai and Trichy premises of Lion Dates late Wednesday night. The raids were conducted till the early hours of Thursday.
It has been found that the company has evaded tax to the tune of Rs. 35 crores. The officials at Lion Dates have accepted the accusation and have agreed to pay Rs. 10 crores. However, they have asked for more time to make the payment.
