Vehicles banned on roads in Chennai Metro City from midnight on 31st December!

The Police Department has announced that vehicles will be banned on the roads from Midnight on 31st December.
With the prevailing situation of the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus, celebrating the Occasion of the New Year has been banned throughout the State of Tamil Nadu.
The Commissioner of the Chennai Metro Police, Shailendra Babu has issued a strict warning that immediate stringent action will be taken on any violation of the traffic rules and regulations.
In this scenario, in another notification released by the Police Department in this regard, it is mentioned:
�Vehicles are banned on roads from Midnight on 31st December until 5.00 Am on the New Year day (1st January 2022)!
Further, the citizens are advised to complete their outside activities before Midnight!�
