Sudden announcement!! - Hike in DA for GOVT employees and Pongal gift of Rs 3000 etc!!

The month of December is coming to an end now and soon in January the Pongal festival will come. People in TN are getting ready for this sensational Pongal festival.
In this scenario, on 28th December 2021, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin has announced an increase in the DA for the government employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners etc plus giving Pongal gifts for C and D category employees. It is learnt that an amount of Rs 8894 croes has been allotted for this purpose. A statement has been released and as per the statement it was clear that for the government employees plus teachers, pensioners and family pensioners there would be an increase of 14% in Dearness Allowance or DA.
Beginning from 1st of January 2022, DA would increase from the current 17% to 31% for the government employees in the state of Tamil Nadu. This would cost the Tamil Nadu government an additional amount of Rs8724 crores.
It was also stated that the C and D category workers belonging to the government would be given a Pongal gift of Rs 3000. Truth is that despite the fiscal burden, the CM has directed the rise in DA and Pongal gifts taking into account the welfare of the employees of government, teachers and pensioners etc. It must not be forgotten that on 7th September at the Assembly the CM announced about the increased DA for the government employees and pensioners would be advanced by 3 months and it would come into effect from 1st January.
