What has SRMIST in Kattankulathur done now that is attracting the attention of many?

The Kattankolathur based SRMIST is making superb news now!!
Established in the year 1985 as SRM Engineering College by founder Mr. Pachamuthu, SRMIST or SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a private deemed university located in Kattankulathur near Chennai and it has been producing many talented graduates and postgraduates etc.
It is now revealed that SRMIST has signed a memorandum of understanding or MoU with Ethiopia based Kabridahar University. It is now said that by this MoU both universities would be exploring mutual collaboration in areas of curriculum development and technology support, faculty exchange programmes, short/long term training plus looking out for opportunities in capacity building and in the consultancy activities etc.
It must be noted that SRMIST was represented by the vice-chancellor Dr. Muthamizhselvan, registrar Dr. Ponnusamy and Mr. Kartar Singh, director, internal relations. Information is that the delegation from Kabridahar University included President Mr. Abdifetah Ahmed Rabi, vice-president (Academics), Mr. Abuselam Abdulahi Mohammad etc.
