No more traffic congestion - A new flyover to come up at Otteri junction in Chennai

Purasawalkam in Chennai is a highly congested locality is well known. It is now said that a new flyover would come up at Otteri junction here. This would provide a solution for the traffic congestion issues here. Information gathered is that this new flyover would be coming up at the junction of Konnur High Road-Strahans Road- Cooks Road- Bricklin Road. It is known that between Konnur High Road and Strahans Road there is heavy traffic.
It was mentioned by the document that due to narrow right of way building of flyovers on Cooks Road and Bricklin Road would be difficult. Hence, a proposal was made to build a 2-lane bi-directional flyover connecting Konnur High Road and Strahans Road. For preparing a detailed feasibility report, GCC has invited private consultants.
They would be conducting topographic surveys plus traffic surveys and other investigations. It is now said that once the feasibility study gets over then the design and cost estimate of the project would be finalised. It was later pointed out by an officer that the feasibility study would be over inside 3 months. There are many flyovers proposed at major junctions belonging to the city of Chennai and the upcoming flyover at Otteri Junction would be one of them.
