Every year, during Purattasi month, Bramotsava festival is held in Tirupati and many devotees take part in it. The Thirukudai would be taken from Chennai Ayanavaram based Tirupati Thirukudai Seva Samithi Foundation in procession and would be presented at the Brahmotsavam festival in Tirupati.
It must be noted that yesterday as many as 4 Thirukudai were brought to Chennai Kesava Perumal Temple at Parrys in Chennai. There were special poojas held at this temple and many devotees took part. There were sounds of Govindha Govindha and with the drum beats Thirukudai procession began to Tirupathi. Leader of TN Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Mr. Srinivasan started the procession and the procession was headed by Mr. Ramalingam, foundation chairman.
Point is that a large number of devotees including trust executives like Mr. Thanigaivel and Mr. Srinivasen etc attended. The destination was Ayanavaram based Kasi Viswanathar swamy Temple and the procession from Parrys went via Yanagavuni, Avadhana Papaya Road and K.H. Road etc to Ayanavaram temple.
It is worthy to mention that the school and college students sang, danced and welcomed Thirukudai. Point is that the Thirukudai stayed there till the night before yesterday then started moving to the sounds of drums. Travelling through places like Villivakkam, Avadi. Puthur etc, the thirukudai would reach Tirupati today. On 6th October in the Brahmotsavam at Tirupati, the Thirukudai would be submitted. Truth is that many devotees as well as the public of Chennai prayed on the roads when the procession of Thirukudai crossed over.
