After Walajabad and Melpakkam, Singaperumal Koil railway station would become the third automobile rail hub!! Sounds amazing right!!
The Singaperumal Koil railway station is located between Tambaram and Chengalpet is known to us. From this railway station, first consignment of Renault-Nissan cars have been despatched to Nepal on Tuesday by the southern railways. With this, Singaperumal Koil station would become busy auto hub.
Oragadam belt in the district of Kancheepuram is famous for many automobile companies and Walajabad and Melpakkam railway stations have been used to dispatch cars through trains. This was according to a senior officer belonging to southern railways. To transport 125 cars to Nepal, BDU or Business Development Unit of Chennai division has bagged an order from the famous Renault-Nissan company under the �Hungry For Cargo� mission.
Singaperumal Koil station was identified as the best loading point by BDU. Here, 25 new modified goods coaches were made and loading infrastructure works were completed in quick time. Information is that JKTI, a private company has been handling the consignment of cars to Nepal covering a distance of 2244km at a cost of amount of Rs 18.25lakhs.
The senior officer of southern railways later spoke about how the cars would be sent to Ramgarhwa in Bihar from Chennai and from there to Nepal cars would be transported through roads. It must be noted that Ramgarhwa is the closest point to the Nepal border Assurance has been given by the Renault-Nissan to the southern railways regarding increasing the share of transport from 20% to 35% in the future.
