Vinayaka Chathurthi Festival celebrations: Restrictions announced!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered certain restrictions imposed for celebrations of religious occasions including Vinayaka Chathurthi.
The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the extension of the prevailing lockdown imposition with certain relaxations until 15th September.
The State Government has ordered certain restrictions regarding the celebrations during religious occasions.
As per this, no permission is given to set up the idols of Lord Vinayaka in public places.
However, permission is given to set up idols of Lord Vinayaka in residences.
Permission is not granted for taking the idols of Lord Vinayaka in a procession and also immersing the idols in water reservoirs.
However, permission is granted for the citizens to carry their idols of Lord Vinayaka individually to the nearest water reservoir and immerse the same.
A ban has been imposed in Chennai Metro City to immerse idols of Lord Vinayaka in the stretch from Santhome up to Napier�s Bridge!
Similarly, a ban has been imposed on public gatherings on the occasion of Mother Mary�s Birthday Festival at the Velankanni Church.
