Ban on taking sacred Agni-Theertham sea-bath at Rameswaram the occasion of the Aadi New Moon Day!

It is traditional as per the Hindu religious custom to take bath at the �Agni-Theertham� Ocean at Rameswaram on the sacred occasion of the New Moon Day (Amavasai in Tamil) occurring in the Tamil Calendar month of Aadi!
This year the New Moon Day sacred bath in the Agni Theertham Ocean at Rameswaram is supposed to be taken over 3 days from 7th 60 9th August!
However, as a precautionary measure against the prevailing raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic, the district administration has ordered that NO TARPANS OR SPECIAL POOJAS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE PERFORMED AT THE AGNI-THEERTHAM OCEAN AT RAMESWARAM THIS YEAR.
FURTHER, THE LODGE OWNERS HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED NOT TO LET ROOMS FOR LODGING UNTIL 12TH AUGUST!
