Possibilities of conducting board exams for class 12 students in TN

The students, parents and teachers are now in a dilemma regarding the board examinations for class 12 in TN. It is well known that the board examinations for class12 have been postponed due to the spike in the number of Coronavirus cases now is well known to us.
On Monday, 10th May 2021, the new TN government reviewed the possibilities of conducting board exams for the students belonging to class 12. The review meeting was led by the new minister for education Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and it assumed significance because till now there is no idea regarding when the board examinations would be conducted.
In the first round of the review meeting, the views of the authorities concerned were sought regarding board examinations for class 12 students. The minister spoke about how the TN government is keen to ensure the health and safety of the students. He hinted about the series of review meetings in the coming days and said all valid opinions from the officials would be considered before taking a decision. Point is that the TN government would take a good decision regarding conducting board examinations at the right time.
Unless there is a drastic reduction in the number of Coronavirus cases, conducting board exams would not be possible. This was mentioned by a senior official belonging to the school education department. He added that the authorities were keen to conduct board exams for the class 12 students as these students would be proceeding to get admissions in the higher educational institutions.
There are also chances of board exams conducted online just similar to how it was conducted for the college students and it would be worked out. Truth is that poor infrastructure could be an issue in conducting online examinations for the students in government and government aided schools. It is said that DGE has completed all the works related to conducting board examinations for the students and just a few works are still pending. The admissions for the first year in the colleges etc might also be postponed if normalcy could not be restored in a few weeks of time in TN
