The Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) of the Chennai Metro City, Prakash has informed that the citizens with mild symptoms of coronavirus infection need not visit the hospitals as there are hardships encountered by the medical staff in the government and private hospitals in treating the incoming rush of patients!

The Commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation had undertaken a survey/inspection visit to check the progress on the various preventive measures undertaken by GCC and then had a session with the press reporters. The GCC Commissioner shared:

“The extent of the spread/impact of the resurgent coronavirus this year (2021) has been far more severe as compared to the last year (2021). The patients suspecting infection of coronavirus without any symptoms NEED NOT VISIT HOSPITALS. THEY CAN ISOLATE THEMSELVES IN THEIR RESIDENCES. Especially the patients with mild symptoms need to isolate themselves only for just 10 days! As per the prevailing situation, hardships are encountered in treating patients with mild symptoms!

As such, the patients with mild symptoms can best isolate themselves and undertake tests in the test centres. Patients who have been infected severely will be taken to the hospital on the GCC vehicles. The infected patients will be given nutritious food as recommended by the government! Further, breathing exercises are given for these patients.”
