COVID vaccination for those above 18 also done now in certain PHCs in Chennai

Many Primary Health Centres in Chennai are busy now!!
The news that has come out now is that several Primary Health Centres in Chennai that are run by the municipal corporation have been vaccinating persons above the age of 18 also now. Point is that many health experts have been advocating this. It must be taken into account that the Union government has stipulated that only the frontline workers of all age groups, all those persons above 60 and those in the age group 45 to 60 with comorbidities should be given vaccine shots as of now.
It is worth mentioning that one PHC in Chennai gave vaccine shots to persons above the age of 45 and another PHC vaccinated persons below 45 with co-morbidities. Truth is that a PHC has asked persons in their 30s to come after 2pm only so that those doses that would have gone waste would be given to them. Those who are eligible (as said by the Union government) would be given vaccine shots on priority. It must be noted that this PHC started administering vaccination to everyone from 9am onwards and this was from the last week onwards.
Information collected is that once opened a Covaxin vial with 20 doses must be used within 4 hours of time and the same applied to Covishield vial with 10 doses. It is known that GCC has the capacity to vaccinate 60,000 persons in a day and on Saturday it managed to vaccinate as many as35215 that was the highest ever.
