IT Dept. raids SRM Group companies

Officials of the Income Tax Department raided several businesses that belong to the SRM Group. The raids began early on Tuesday morning. The SRM Group has under its umbrella several educational institutions, a cinema production company called Vendar Productions and a news channel and magazine Pudiya Thalaimurai, among other businesses.
The IT officials arrived at SRM Group Chairman Parivendar�s home in Ashok Nagar on Tuesday morning. Simultaneously, they arrived at SRM�s properties and businesses in Valasaravakkam, Vadapalani, Ramapuram, T. Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Kattangalathur and Trichy.
