There are 6 temples dedicated to Lord Sri Murugan in Tami Nadu - Palaani, Thirupparankundram, Thirutthanigai, Thiruchendur, Pazhamudhirsoai and Swamimalai. Among these, the Palani temple of Lord Sri Murugan counts as the 3rd.
Traditionally, the festival of �Thai Poosam� (The day on which the star �Poosam� falls in the Tamil Calendar month of �Thai�) is celebrated at the Palani temple in a grand manner and with great enthusiasm with thronging devotees!
