The Flow Cytometer, a sophisticated machine that helps identify blood caner and its sub types was unveiled at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital on Monday. Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister K.C. Veeramani inaugurated the use of the machine.
The Flow Cytometer differentiates between the types of lymphocytes and identifies blood cancer and other blood related diseases. The machine will also help decide the types of drugs, the days of treatment and duration of treatment among other things.
The facility is being offered at no cost at the Hospital.
