New COVID cluster identified in Chennai now.

Last month IIT-Madras made many heads turn when the educational institution was identified as the Covid-19 cluster with many persons testing positive there.
Now, a new Covid-19 cluster has been identified in Chennai and this is creating huge fears. In the last 15 days, 85 persons including many employees and guests in the famous ITC Grand Chola had tested positive for Covid-19 infection. The information collected is that GCC has ordered ITC Grand Chola to not hold banquets, events and gatherings.
Saturation testing:
It is important to mention that the civic body authorities have advised saturation testing of all employees, guests and residents of this hotel. As many as 605 persons belonging to this hotel were tested until Friday and of those 85 were found to be positive. This was according to Divyadharshini, corporation joint commissioner, health. She mentioned that all those who had tested positive (asymptomatic or with mild symptoms) have been isolated. Truth is that some of them have been discharged and the rest are in stable condition.
In a statement released by the ITC Grand Chola Hotel, it was mentioned that the health and safety of the guests and associates were very important. The SOP�s that were laid down by the authorities are being followed by the hotel along with its own stringent sanitation and hygienic protocol. This included social distancing at public areas, kitchen hygiene and regular checks of associates etc.
It is brought out that every member of the team has been senitised and trained on following all the prescribed prevention of Covid-19 protocols. The statement also threw light on the large number of persons who have been working from home and how they have not come in contact with the workforce at the hotel or with the guests. Point is this hotel reported its first case on 15th December and on Friday it had 13 more Covid-19 cases.
