As the number of passengers travelling has reduced considerably, the Chennai-Madurai Tejas Express train is being cancelled from 4th January 2021.
Chennai-Madurai Tejas Express train was being operated 6 days a week � however, it was cancelled due to the lockdown imposed as a preventive measure against the spread of the raging coronavirus.
After the perceived confirmation in the improvement in the coronavirus spread situation, this Chennai-Madurai Tejas Express was resumed from 2nd October.
As this train is scheduled to start at 6.00 AM in the early morning, most passengers find it difficult and so do not prefer to travel in this train. The passengers also appealed fr change in the timings.
As such, the train timing was changed and from 12th October, the train started at 6.30 AM reaching Madurai at 12.50 AM. The train started from Madurai at 3.15 pm AND REACHED Chennai Egmore at 9.30 PM. However, even after the change in the train timings as above, the number f passengers continued to be considerably less. Hence, this Chennai-Madurai Tejas Express and the return trip are both cancelled from 4th January 2021.
