As a preventive measure of the lockdown imposition against the ring spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the public transport facility was withdrawn from March.
Now, it has been announced that the facility of the public transport will be resumed in the Chennai Metro City from tomorrow (Tuesday, 1st September).
Subsequently, the Public Transport Officials have announced that all buses in different routes will be operated for the public facility. The officials mentioned:
�Due to the prevailing lockdown imposition, the suburban train services and the Metro Rail services have been cancelled. At the same time, permission has been given to all the organisations to deploy 100% of their staff.
In this situation, assessing the present juncture and giving due consideration to the public and the passengers, all buses in different routes n the Chennai Metro City will be operated.
At the same time, the guidelines given for the prevention of the infection of the raging coronavirus pandemic such as wearing face masks and keeping social distancing will be mandatory! The passengers must use the exit and entrance doors of the buses properly.
Al the buses will be operated with 50% passengers.
Further, as the transport system from one state to another is still not resumed, a detailed report regarding the buses operating in the Chennai Metro City will be released today (Monday, 31st August).�
