It is important to mention here that the authorities have also issued orders to the management of all the state run schools to verify and prepare a detailed list of students who received TC being admitted to other government schools.

It is now said that the teachers must ensure whether the students from the elementary studies have joined middle government schools. Likewise, the teachers must ensure that the students from the middle schools have been admitted to the higher and higher secondary schools.

The new admissions started on 17th august and till 26th August about 5.7lakhs students have been admitted. This has been brought to light by data from the School Education Department.

Out of 5.7lakh students admitted, new enrolment in the government schools is expected to touch 2.5lakhs. This was mentioned by a senior officer belonging to the department.

He added that for the sake of new admissions thousands of teachers in TN volunteered themselves to meet the parents at their doorsteps for spot admissions of their kids. Fact is on day one 1000 new admissions were registered in Chennai alone after the teachers met the parents directly at their homes.

In this academic year, the new admissions would cross 6lakhs as there is another 2 weeks left for the admissions. Information is teachers have been given instructions to brief about various welfare measures of the TN government for students at state run schools.

Efforts from the teachers resulted in getting as many as110 new admissions for the government school at Kodungaiyur and this was as per Mr. P.K. Illamaran, president of TN Teachers Association.
