The State Government of Tamil Nadu has informed in the Chennai High Court that no decision has been taken yet on the issue of reopening the schools.
A petition had been filed in the Chennai High Court that like all other students who studied in schools have been declared as passed in the 10th Standard, even the other private candidates who had obtained hall tickets to write the 10th Standard Public Examination must also be declared as passed.
While enquiring about this petition, the judges had ordered that the State Government of Tamil Nadu come up with the details when the higher/higher secondary schools, colleges, and polytechnics will reopen.
In this situation, in the enquiry conducted today (Tuesday, 25th August), the advocate who represented the Department of Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government responded stating that as regards the private candidates, the results will be declared within 2 weeks after the examinations are conducted. The judges registered this reply and dismissed the case.
In another similar petition which demanded that the private candidates for the 10th Standard also to be declared as passed, the judges declared that this demand is not acceptable and closed the case.
