Postponement of PG admissions in arts and sciences colleges in TN

On Monday, 17th August, the Aided College Teachers Association or ACTA urged the TN government to postpone the admissions to PG programmes in the arts and sciences colleges, universities in TN.
The ACTA wants postponement of the admissions until the UG final year semester results were announced. Point is there was no level playing field in the PG admission for aspirants with arrears in the UG programmes. The Coronavirus outbreak has resulted in the postponement of the sixth semester examinations is a known fact. Till now, the TN government has not taken any decision regarding the conduction of final semester examinations for the UG students.
Information collected is that the final year students with backlogs were left behind inspite of them paying arrear examination fees. The examination dates were not scheduled till now.
According to ACTA general secretary, Mr. S. Sahaya Sathish, it would be unfair to deny these students an opportunity and access to pursue their Post graduation.
