50% staffs to work in the banks in TN from today

The news is beginning today the banks in the state of TN would function with 50% staff because of the higher number of Coronavirus positive cases in TN. On Friday, a meeting took place and in that meeting the State Level Banking Committee or SLBC has taken this decision to reduce the staff.
As per Mr. Mohanlal, GM of IOB and Convenor SLBC-TN, all bank branches and offices in TN would function with just 50% staff on rotation basis. They would be functioning under normal working hours rendering usual services.
It must be remembered that in the notice issued by SLBC on 31st July 2020 it was mentioned that all banks could function with 100% staff. It was brought out that the social distancing could not be maintained in the banks and All India Banking Staffs Association threatened to go on strike from 30th April to reduce the banking staff strength. Information is this new order of reducing the banking staff to 50% would be there till 31st August 2020.
It is known that SLBC came into existence under the Lead Bank Scheme according to the RBI guidelines. SLBC plays an important role in ensuring coordination between banks and the government regarding banking development.
