Beginning from 3rd of August, the online classes for the TN college students would begin. This was pointed out by the state higher education department on Wednesday. The reason for the beginning of the online classes was due to the delay in the reopening of the colleges in TN.

The online classes would ensure that the students are taught for mandatory academic hours for the next semester. It must be remembered that the TN government had promoted all the students except final year students to the next academic year without examinations.

There were some discussions between the higher education department and vice-chancellors of the universities in TN regarding reopening of the colleges plus reducing syllabus and awarding marks for the cancelled exams etc.

The discussions were carried out in an online meeting that was chaired by the higher education mister Mr. K.P. Anbalagan. Higher education secretary, Apoorva also took part in the online meeting. In the meeting it was decided that the online classes for the second and third year students would begin on 3rd August.

An officer belonging to the higher educational department official later threw light on how for conducting a semester colleges need atleast 90 working days or 450 hours of classes.
