In the worst affected zones in Chennai, there is now an increase in the recovery rates

Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC has released statistical data on Tuesday, 30th July 2020. According to the statistics, as far as zonal level changes were concerned 2 bright spots and 3 dark spots were seen.

Until now, the zones like Royapuram and Tondiarpet (zones with most Coronavirus cases in GCC) have notched up 70 % recovery rates. Information is 70 percent of Coronavirus patients have recovered in Royapuram and 71% in Tondiarpet zones.

The statistical data also brought out that the mortality rate in Tiruvottiyur and Teynampet has gone above 2%. In the Thiru- Vi- Ka Nagar zone, the mortality rate has reached 1.99%. Overall, the Coronavirus mortality rate in Chennai city is 1.51%.

3 hotspots zones like Kodambakkam, Teynampet, and Thiru- Vi- ka Nagar have recorded a more than 60% recovery rate. The best performing zone of GCC has been the Tondiarpet zone. In this zone, the recovery rate of Coronavirus patients has increased by a whopping 21%since 19th June.

The date from GCC also threw light on the Royapuram zone where the improvement of the recovery rate from 19th June has been 9.48% points. After 25th June, a major improvement came about in this zone.

In the same time period, the recovery rate of the Valasaravakkam zone was reduced by 6%. In the mortality rate, the Tiruvottriyur zone has been the worst and since 19th June this zone has been recording an increase of 0.26 percentage points.  It is important to note that the Teynampet zone is the worst performer as far as the mortality rate is concerned.
