There are many COVID care centres in Chennai that have been providing treatment for the Coronavirus patients. Here comes the latest one at Vysarpadi.
It must be noted that this new facility at Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts College in Tondiarpet zone would provide treatment for asymptomatic patients. The doctors and nurses belonging to Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital would be posted round the clock here. As many as 224 patients could be accommodated at this new centre. This was according to some officials of GCC.
It is revealed that this new centre at Vysarpadi would have Siddha practitioners and the patients admitted here would be offered meditation and immune boosters. It is said that Siddha would serve as a supplementary system. A health officer spoke about how the government has been utilizing all streams of medicines.
On 23rd April, GO was issued and the health department thought of exploring the feasibility of using Indian System of Medicine. A committee was constituted by the government under the chairmanship of Director of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy.
The guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of AYUSH using Indian System of Medicine as general immune booster were taken into consideration by the government while forming the committee. It is important to mention that the government went on to launch �Aarokyam� special programme with AYUSH interventions for COVID-19.
As per the officials of the directorate, the new COVID care centre in Vysarpadi would be maintained by National Institute of Siddha, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, Government of TN and Centre Council for Research in Siddha.
