Chennai : Apartments turned as Covid Care Centre

With the rising cases of Covid 19, the Chennai Corporation have shifted the apartments in the outskirts of Chennai to Covid Care Cnters which will enable the officials to consolidate the patients and treat in large numbers. The newly created centre has more than 5000 beds. The area which belonged to the Housing Facility Board of the Ambatur zone was inspected by the Chennai Corporation Commissioner Prakash along with the health officials on June 23.
This centre has 1450 aparments with 450 apartmetns allotted for the health workers, nurses, lab technicians and doctors. The other 100 apartments are facilitated to hold 5 beds per house with the total capacity of 5000 beds. The centre is open for utilization in 10 days with half capacity and will start working in full capacity from July 10. There are special Covid Care Centres in 55 zones with 17,500 bed capacities.
The commissioner on a question to the reporter answered that the people under home quarantine are monitored and their need are satisfied with 4500 volunteers from the Corporation. More than 30,000 people have been treated successfully and sent home. Covid cases show an increasing number because the testing is happening on a large number. They are treated prescribed after disseminating them into four groups and are medicated based on that.
Earlier, people with two symptoms were tested whereas as of now people with any one of the symptoms are tested. the positive cases with serious illness are treated at Rajiv Gandhi and Stanley hospital and people with second level infection are treated at Covid h health centres under continuous and strict monitoring by the doctors. The people with mild or no symptoms are admitted in Covid Care Centres with best treatments and healthy diet. The last category people are home quarantined with the doctor�s continuous inspection. The commissioner assure for the best function to fight against Covid 19.
