Chennai had witnessed 1380 new Covid 19 cases on June 23 that amounts the total infected cases in the city to 44,205. However, the cured numbers console the feared hearts with a rate of 54%. The Chennai Corporation has revealed the zone wise counts of Corona infected people. The zone of saline air (Royapettah) tops the list with 6607 which place was lately believed that air mixed with the saline moistures increased the immunity against diseases.
The zone comprising of Manali sustains the affects and stand with the least count of 669 among the zones of Chennai. There are 90 containment zones in Chennai with Todiarpet on the top. Teyampet, Kodambakkam and Anna nagar have the majority of streets under containment and are marked red by the authorities.
With the numbers threatening the people to step out for even basic necessities, there are ignorant people who roam around the road without understanding the seriousness and responsibility of the issue. While the Government had imposed complete lock down with 144, the authorities have collected Rs.14.95 crores from the 144 offenders. More than 5.2 lakhs vehicles have been ceased and 6.5 cases have been filed for the violation of the lockdown. The police authrorities for most of the times excuse the people with just an advice.
