For sanitization works, Secretariat in Chennai to be closed

 Few days back, Secretariat belonging to Chennai was making news as many staff members had tested positive for Coronavirus.

The state government has now mentioned that on Saturday and Sunday entire premises of secretariat would be sanitized. An order has been issued in this regard by Mr. P. Senthil Kumar, secretary of public department. As per the order, the Secretariat buildings would be closed for 48 hours from Saturday to Sunday for carrying out sanitization works.

It must be taken into account that after the state government opened all its offices with 50% staff and Secretariat became a Coronavirus cluster and nearly 100 officials tested positive. This had shocked many. Information is GO was issued by the government to close down all its offices on second Saturdays and Sundays for the purpose of sanitization works. The Public department is in-charge of all the departments inside the premises of Secretariat.

It is now revealed that based on the GO the public department called for closing down of offices of all the departments functioning inside Secretariat campus for the sake of sanitization works.

The order from Mr. Senthil Kumar mentioned that all the departments of Secretariat have been requested to hand over the keys of halls, rooms and chambers of secretaries to the government for sanitisation works.
