Every day, the state of Tamil Nadu has been witnessing more number of Corona virus positive cases and this inspite many measures taken to contain the spread of this contagious infection.
In this scenario, Tamil Nadu is likely to announce extension in the lock down and it might be till 31st of May 2020. There would be more easing of the norms this time.
A phased easing of the lock down was recommended by the state government appointed health expert team to the chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami on Thursday. Ramping up testing to better map the spread of virus has been recommended by the experts.
Important information is the government would not allow public transport, gyms, malls, cinema theatres to function in the extended lock down period. It was brought out by a source that the industries might work with more concessions.
Point is state is thinking about permitting the government officers to work with 50 percent strength on alternate days and six day a week work schedule. A decision would be taken on Saturday considering local aspects and the recent spike in the cases.
It is known that the chief minister of TN has already made a request to the Centre about not to resume regular trains and flights till 31st May. The testing for Corona virus has been made compulsory on Thursday for those coming from other states. Increased testing has been recommended by the health expert team after it had 3 hour long discussion with the CM of TN.
As per Mr. Prabhdeep Kaur of NIE, it was clear that lock down would be extending to next phase and there would be gradual easing of lock down. It is now said that by ramping up the testing, identification of the spread of the infection would be possible.
