It has been informed that as a preventive measure against the spreading of the coronavirus pandemic, the wholesale shops selling fruits and flowers at the Chennai Koyambedu wholesale market will be shifted to Madhavaram Bus Terminus and will start opening from tomorrow (Thursday, 30th April)!
The stalls for selling the fruits and flowers are being set up in the places owned by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) and the playgrounds/bus termini at the respective places!
Subsequent to the confirmation of coronavirus infection being confirmed on 2 employees in the Koyambedu wholesale market, GCC insisted on shifting the market elsewhere. However, the traders objected.
Subsequently, the public is banned from entering this market and further, all the fruit/flower shops are being shifted to Madhavaram Bus Terminus.
