After the discussions between the Traders and the GCC/Government officials, it has been decided to keep the Chennai Koyambedu vegetables/fruits/flowers wholesale market under some stricter regulations:

Out of the total 1900 shops, only 600 will be allowed to open.

Permission has been given to set up 450 retail shops in Amaindhakarai.

The above restrictions are because of the recent news that 2 persons in the market have been confirmed with coronavirus.

The above restrictions were decided after the 2nd Phase of discussions between the TN Government/GCC officials and the traders conducted today (Tuesday, 28th April).

Information is gathered that the wholesale traders accepted the decision by Greater Chennai Corporation.

However, retail traders have not accepted!

It has been announced that all 1500 retails shops in Koyambedu will remain closed!
