The State Government of Tamil Nadu has released an order that a time extension is given until 30th June to pay Property Tax and the Drinking water charges without any penalty.
The normal life-routine of the citizens has been severely affected by the prevalent lockdown situation, which has been imposed by the central and state governments as a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus pandemic. Giving due consideration to this situation of the citizens, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, E. Palaniswamy, had declared earlier than 3 months’ extension time will be given for the payment of taxes to the corporations.
Accordingly, as per the latest Government Order released, it is stated that the citizens need not pay any taxes in all the local administrations including Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).
