In his Governors bungalow, Mr Girish Chandra Mummu, First Lieutenant Governor for Jammu and Kashmir, grabbed many eyeballs when he took part in Amarnath Temple Board meeting.
It was announced after the meeting that since 3rd of May there would be lock down in entire India and any decision that would be taken after the lock down time gets over would not be spoken now.
It must be noted that as many as 77 places including Amarnath yatra places have been identified as red zones due to Corona virus threat. Moreover, it was difficult to set up medical camps in places where yatra takes place.
Safety of the people is very important and taking this into consideration the Amarnath yatra would be cancelled. It was decided at the meeting that there would be daily poojas in the temples and the committee would decide on the live telecast of poojas through online. The above meeting saw the presence of many ministers plus temple administration authorities.
