GCC Explains: Coronavirus infection will not spread through dead!

A notification released on behalf of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC):
It is rather a great tragedy for some persons affected by the coronavirus pandemic to pass away!
It is a tragic incident that we are losing some good humans through this coronavirus pandemic! They are also a part of the world that we live in! It is indeed the duty of us, other humans, to give them a farewell from this world they deserve!
The guidelines given by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the guidelines released by the State Government of Tamil Nadu are strictly and clearly followed by GCC while cremating or interring the dead bodies.
All precautionary actions are strictly followed while handling the dead body with care and respect and to do the cremation properly.
The Greater Chennai Corporation strictly follows the guidelines given by the State Government of Tamil Nadu while performing the cremation of the dead body.
There is absolutely no need to worry about the spread of the infection to the dead bodies of the departed persons!
We are handling this aspect with the utmost care and safety!
In this, we promise the full safety of our society
