Few days back, PM of India, Mr. Narendra Modi had announced that lock down in India would be extended till 3rd May 2020 to contain Corona virus. The services of trains and flights in India have been suspended in all the states in India till that date is known.
It is now said that the operations of trains and flights even after 3rd May might not be possible.
It is well known that from 25th March till 14th April India was under the lock down and people faced many difficulties. Important piece of information is the airline companies have asked the people not to reserve their tickets in advance even after 3rd May.
Defense minister of India, Mr. Rajnath Singh and few others took part in a meeting yesterday and there were some discussions regarding the resumption of trains and flights services.
The sources have pointed out that various ministers were worried about the resuming of train and flight services after the lock down as social distancing would be important. The civil aviation ministry had revealed no decision has been taken about the opening of domestic, international terminals.
Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, minister of civil aviation in India, mentioned that till the government decides about opening of domestic and international operations, the airlines must not resume booking activities.
