In the city of Chennai, there are many places marked as Covid-19 containment hot spots now.
Information collected is GCC has added a new feature to its mobile application and by this the people would be able to view the hot spots embedded in a map view. The people would also be able to know how far they live from Covid-19 containment hot spots.
The Chennai Corporation tweeted that people could see the Covid-19 containment hot spots in Chennai city embedded in a map view in GCC Corona Monitoring app. The app could be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
It is important to mention that the app also geo tags people with fever plus the app would be able to monitor those at home based quarantine. For the sake of preventing entry or exit of people from hot spots to avoid Corona virus spreading, Chennai Corporation till now has created as many as 90 Covid-19 containment zones in Chennai.
It is revealed that till now the application has registered around 3000 downloads with more than 50 symptomatic cases being registered every day. Nearly health of one lakh people is being monitored by the Corporation by using this application. Chennai city reported 211 Corona virus positive cases n Tuesday. Information gathered is Royapuram has got a maximum of 26 hot spots having 63 positive cases followed by Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar of 14 hot spots with 26 positive cases.
To prevent the spread of Corona virus, the civic body has been disinfecting the containment zones 5 times per day. This was confirmed by Mr. G. Prakash.
