The central ministry has recommended two important actions: 1. Extend the vacation of the schools/colleges and reopen only after 15th May. 2. To continue the restrictions regarding religious issues by 1 more month!

7 More days remain for the currently imposed lockdown to conclude! The central government has been reviewing the situation in consultation with the state governments. As at present the impact of the coronavirus is more severe in the states of Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, these state representatives have contacted Prime Minister Modi and appealed for the extension of the lockdown!

However, some states including Punjab have recommended the withdrawal of lockout after its conclusion on 14th April.

In this scenario, the recently formed central cabinet ministry for coronavirus related issues conducted a review meeting presided by the Central Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

After the conclusion of the meeting, the officials had a session with the press and indicated that the lockdown may be extended until the end of April. However, the central ministry has explained that no decision has been taken on this issue so far.

At the same time, the officials indicated that though the lockdown might be withdrawn, the ban on vehicles/transport may continue and also that schools/colleges will remain closed.

Meanwhile, information is gathered that the central ministry has recommended that vacation for the schools and colleges may be extended up to 15th May and the present restrictions on religious related events to be extended for 1 more month.
