
At this time of lock down to prevent the spreading of Corona virus infection from one person to other and when health is given more priority than anything else, there are many who come out on the roads risking their lives.
The lock down started on 25th March and in the last 4 days the police personnel in TN have registered as many as 14,815 cases and had arrested as many as 17,668 persons who have violated the order.
An amount of Rs 4.8 lakhs has been collected as penalty from these persons is known. As many as 11,565 vehicles have been seized by the police in TN in this time of curfew. In total defiance of the prohibitory orders, many motorists came to the streets in TN on Sunday.
From morning 6 am to evening 6 pm in Chennai, police have seized 218 vehicles and have booked 307 cases. It must be taken into account that 493 cases have been registered for violating traffic rules and the traffic policemen have given challans to as many as 664 persons for not wearing helmets.
It was later brought to light by a police officer about how the traffic violators were advised to follow the traffic rules but they do not have patience to listen to the advice.
