Central Government imposes restrictions on Management Courses!

The All India Technical and Industrial Education Council has stated that the government and private academic institutions cannot offer the 2 courses PGDM and MBA at the same time.
In this regard, a notification issued by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) mentions:
The central, state, and private universities and the deemed universities have been conducting Management courses such as PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) and MBA (Management of Business Administration) under the topic of Management Planning.
This is a violation of the IICTE Rules.
So, henceforth, all the central, state, private, and deemed universities are emphasised to bring all the management courses under a single title of MBA (Management of Business Administration).
Thus, the course PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) cannot be conducted henceforth by the Universities and approved academic institutions.
These courses will be allowed to be conducted only by the Management Speciality Academic Institutions such as the Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
All Other university-approved academic institutions are advised to conduct only one of the 2 courses mentioned above.
