Ploggathon 2020 to be hosted by Besant Nagar beach

For the purpose of healthy, cleaner and greener Chennai, Ploggathon would be organised soon.
Information collected is on 2nd February 2020, Chennai Corporation would be organizing �Chennai Ploggathon 2020� and this would have as many as 3000 volunteers taking part.
Besant Nagar beach would be hosting this Chennai Ploggathon 2020 and over 1500 volunteers have already registered to take part in this forthcoming event. This was according to Chennai Corporation commissioner Mr. G. Prakash. Beginning at 5 am in the morning, this event would be attracting the attention of many and it would end at 8 am.
Citizens have certain role to play in the solid waste management and it is very clear that this Ploggathon 2020 would be creating awareness on this. The volunteers have been requested to register their names at the website www.chennaiploggathon.com. By the end of 2020, waste processing facilities would be ready.
The Chennai corporation commissioner then spoke about how in another 2 months encroachments along Cooum River would be removed and how more than 15000 families would be resettled. In the same manner, 25000 encroachments along Buckingham canal and 15000 encroachments along Adyar River would also be removed. To develop 1.5 lakh parking lots along the roads, the corporation of Chennai is having plans.
