NEET 2020: No. of applications from Tamil Nadu down by 17%!

The number of applications for writing the NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) mandatory for pursuing medical courses has come down by as much as 17%.
As compared to the academic year 2018-19, with 17% lesser applications from the State of Tamil Nadu for NEET, on a country-wide scenario, it is informed that the number of applications has increased to 74,000 as per the National Examination Commission.
The teachers and academicians observe that this significant reduction in the number of applications for NEET from Tamil Nadu can be attributed to various reasons.
There is a trend that only the candidates who write4 more than once are succeeding. Another is that the cut-off marks set are deemed to be higher. Some students are upset with the incidents of impersonation! These are the 3 reasons attributed to the above 17% reduction.
Among the 4,202 students who joined medical courses in the year 2019, 2,916 (70%) were older students. So, the students who failed in 2019 NEET decide to leave a year�s gap and train better and have decided to appear in the next year�s NEET!
