Better security to help the employees against robbery at SIPCOT Parks near Chennai

In recent times, the employees of SIPCOT near Chennai have been facing issues regarding persons robbing their money and mobile phones etc near their workplaces.
For providing a solution for these employees against these thefts, security has been increased for these employees in the industrial parks near Chennai. It is now said that vehicles with security guards would patrol these industrial parks round the clock plus CCTVs would also be installed. For a centralized response system, a uniform toll-free number is being considered for the employees.
It is known that there are as many as 19 industrial parks in TN and as many as 7 are located within 50 kms of Chennai. Various places around Chennai where these industrial parks are located are Sriperumbudur, Irungattukottai, Pillaipakkam, Oragadam and Vallam-Vadagal in Kancheepuram district and Gummidipoondi and Thervoykandigai in Tiruvallur district. For enhancing the security at the 19 industrial parks in TN, tenders have been floated by SIPCOT.
In the 7 industrial parks (covering an area of 12,750 acres) near Chennai, about 1.5 lakhs workers (30 percent women) have been employed in 800 industries. These industries are mostly auto components, automobile and electronic units. At each of these 7 industrial parks, tenders mentioned about the patrol vehicles to be on 24/7 duty is known. These parks must have 300 CCTV cameras installed at vantage points. To increase the security inside these industrial parks, several industrial units have made representations to the government.
It was pointed out by a source belonging to SIPCOT that security measures have been taken by patrol vehicles and CCTV cameras. Filing complaints by the security guards would also be carried out in case of any violation, offences etc. There would be systems in the administrative office on the industrial park and in SIPCOT headquarters and the patrol vehicles would have GPRS integration with these systems.
