NSC Bose Road near the Madras High Court is an important and busy area in the north Chennai. This is now making news.
It is now said that the commercial complexes and public sector undertakings have reserved parking space outside their buildings. This has been creating issues for many visitors to the court complex.
The parking spaces outside TNSC Bank building and SBI buildings were barricaded earlier and other vehicles were not allowed to park in this place.
The parking spaces have not been let out to any particular building or organisation and it was on first come first served basis. This has been confirmed by an official belonging to Chennai Corporations Royapuram zone. Even the traffic police personnel outside Madras HC have revealed that the spaces were not earmarked for any particular building.
It was later pointed out by a worker of an optical store that the security guards of the buildings do not allow the public to park their vehicles on NSC Bose Road claiming that senior officials of banks would be parking their vehicles.
Bollards have been raised by the civic body for checking to park and this was after the HC came down heavily on them for allowing hawking and parking of two-wheelers on the pavement along NSC Bose Road. Many two-wheelers continued to park their vehicles on the pavements on this road on Wednesday and this inspite of boards erected by the Chennai Corporation and police personnel.
Several two-wheelers were parked on the pavement and temporary ramp was put in front of a commercial complex adjacent to Armenian Street.
It was later mentioned by an official of Royapuram zone that the menace had reduced and bollards would be set up to prevent two-wheeler entering from the approach roads of NSC Bose Road.
