An easier procedure to change the network service provider for cells!

Earlier, it required more time to change over one�s mobile service provider from one company to another. Now, TRAI (Telecomm Regulatory Authority of India) has simplified the rules and regulations pertaining to this changing over from one network service provider to another.
This revised system has been effective from 16th December.
As per this new system, those who wish to change over from one network service provider to another need to type �port� on the cell, leave a space and then type the mobile number. And send this as SMS to 1900.
Subsequently, the UPC code number to change the SIM would be sent as a reply SMS. Take this number and visit the nearest service centre of the network provider and show this number and receive an application form.
Fill this application form and submit along with the payment for the new SIM card and the required documents. Then, a new SIM card to operate with the changed network provider will be given.
Thus, one can change the network service provider within a period of 3 days and WITHOUT CHANGING THE CELL NUMBER!
