Chennai District Collector: Applications may be submitted for battery-operated wheel-chair!

It has been announced that applications may be submitted to receive battery-operated wheel-chairs for the differently-abled.

A notification released by the Chennai District Collector Seethalakshmi in this regard:

Approval has been obtained and reserved for distribution of battery-operated wheel-chairs for differently-abled people residing in Chennai whose hands and legs do not function due to tissue-damage or a spine-function related problem.

As such, those who have the National Identity Card for being affected by paralysis due to above reasons can avail of this benefit.

The differently-abled candidates who are school/college students will be given 1st priority in issuing the National Identity Cards.

Next, the National Identity Cards will be given to working or self-employed entrepreneur who is differently-abled.

Also, senior citizens, men under  60 years of age and women under 55 years of age affected by the spinal cord .failue will also be eligible to receive the National Identity Card and the battery-operated wheel-chair.

Please note that these wheel-chairs will be offered only once in the life-time and no second claim will be entertained!

So, candidates who qualify above conditions can fill the applications and attach the National Identity Card, Family Ration Card, or copy of Aadhar card, 1-Passport-size photograph, and submit at the office in person or by post:

District Differently-abled welfare Office, Government Pukar Hospital Complex, KK Nagar, Chennai-60078.
