Belgian Consulate in Chennai

The Belgian Consul General in Mumbai Karl Van den Bossche announced that there will be a Belgian Consulate in Chennai by the end of next year.
Speaking at the launch of the visa application centre in Chennai, he said, �(I am) hopeful of getting the new consulate up and running by the end of this year. There are a lot of permissions and approvals to be procured from the Ministry of External Affairs and setting up a Consulate will be an expensive affair, given the price of realty here� We haven�t begun scouting for locations yet, but that is something we will have to do when everything is set. For now, with a separate visa application centre in Gopalapuram, we can save space at the upcoming consulate premises.
�Chennai is a business-oriented city and there is a huge administrative advantage in having a Consulate here.�
