The facility for online application for membership subscription in the Anna Centenary Library has been uploaded.
Anna Centenary Library, located in Chennai Kotturpuram is considered as the 2nd largest library in Asia. The library is a multi-storeyed complex with 8 floors. There are several sections in the Anna Centenary Library � the visitors/members can bring their own books and read in a separate section. There is a separate section for books on competitive examinations. There is a special section for the visually-impaired. There is another section exclusive for the children.
Though 9 years have passed since the inauguration of the library, the facility for membership has not been introduced. Due to the strong public appeals and the efforts of the Library Employees� Association, the state government of Tamil Nadu approved the proposal for introducing the library membership.
Thus, the activity of enrolling members for the Anna Centenary Library commenced before last week. 4 kinds of memberships are in the offing: Individual membership, family membership, senior citizen membership, and students (boys & girls) membership.
The details regarding the annual subscription fee and the membership fee, etc., have been released on the official website of the Anna Centenary Library.
